About Manar Alattar

Science education and food systems are my things! I have enjoyed teaching biology for ten years. Currently, I am a community college instructor, but have also taught at the grade school and university levels. My favorite moments are ‘light bulb moments’, when my students really grasp important concepts. I am also convinced that one of the most direct routes for solving global environmental, social, and political issues is by improving our global food system. I recently combined my passions for education and food systems in my PhD work on food system educational programming and curriculum development. I continue to build on this work in my teaching, public presentations/workshops, and research. I am also passionate about youth involvement in science, youth mentorship, and community development.
