As the Interim Director of Resource Strategy and Management for the Kennesaw State University Libraries, I lead the team providing the foundation of the library resources, providing strategic oversight, acquisition, and management. Our goal is to ensure equitable, efficient, and cost-effective access to information that supports the university’s academic mission. Through a holistic approach to resource management and technological innovation, the unit plays a vital role in advancing student success and supporting innovative research, ensuring that the library remains a dynamic partner in education and discovery. “There is no failure, only feedback.” This phrase has defined my professional and academic careers. In the world of assessment and continuous improvement, there really is no room for the idea of failure. Instead, take all feedback, positive and negative, as room for growth and continue on to the next step. This phrase impacted me to my core, and I will consistently quote it whenever I hear of failure in work or at home. You can always grow, as a person and as a professional, and feedback is a necessary part of success.
