Remain steadfast in the seeking of knowledge."(Queen Lili'uokalani) I truly believe that every child has the potential for greatness, regardless of their demographic, socioeconomic status, family dynamic, or educational history. As a veteran of the United States Navy, I have had the honor and opportunity to not only glean knowledge from my superiors, but to learn from peers and subordinates as well. Having a mindset that anyone is able to teach someone is something that I am excited to bring to my future educating platforms; the belief that a student can teach a teacher, that a student is not "less than" their instructor, and that anyone can be successful regardless of where they've come from. I am passionate about implementing a variety of learning styles in any subject, with any age group. I feel that learning at any level should incorporate hands on experience, learning by teaching one's peers, role-play, and other creative methods to get students out of a “classroom mindset" and into a space geared towards learning and growing. I am committed to teaching the unteachable, helping those that have already been pushed aside, and creating a safe and accepting learning environment that displays the skills and diverse backgrounds that we all have.
