About Mandy Stanley

With over a decade of experience in community service and advocacy, I am deeply committed to advancing equity, inclusion, and human rights and also Indigenous rights. My career began in frontline roles within the non-profit sector, where I spent eight years supporting individuals navigating mental health challenges, addictions, and homelessness. I also supported marginalized communities and advocated for change in regarding social determinants of health and individuality. This work shaped my person-centered approach and reinforced the importance of dignity, trust, and culturally grounded care. In 2023, I joined the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples, first as a Project Coordinator and now as a Program Manager within the Policy and Research team. My work has focused on community empowerment and culturally relevant programming for Indigenous peoples across Canada, guided by collaboration and the voices of those we serve. I will now be leading the MMIWG2S+ file, where I am committed to building relationships, listening deeply, and co-developing strategies that advance justice, safety, and healing for Indigenous women, girls, and gender-diverse people through community-driven research, policy development, and advocacy.
