About Mandy Stanley

I am an occupational therapy educator with over 30 years of experience in teaching and curriculum development for both under-graduate and graduate entry students. I am a National assessor of occupational therapy programs for the Occupational Therapy Council. Made a Fellow of the OTAustralia Research Academy in June, 2021. I am known for my expertise in qualitative research methodologies in particular grounded theory. I have supervised many Honours students and PhD students to timely and successful completion. My research focuses on older people and people living with disability and engagement in everday occupations, well-being and managing risk in ways that don't inhibit occupational potential for clients. I was an Associate Editor for the Journal of Occupational Science for 9 years and president of the Editorial Board for 6, having been involved with the journal for over 20 years. I enjoy facilitation of small and large groups in building capacity to enable well-being for older people or in conducting qualitative research.
