New York Times best-selling author Manette Ansay is the owner and lead advisor of Standout Story College Advising. She lives east of Boulder, Colorado, where she enjoys coaching high school students and their families through the college planning and application process. She is Professor Emerita at the University of Miami, where she served as director of the MFA program, taught courses in fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry, and advised and mentored undergraduate and graduate students. Her novels include Vinegar Hill, an Oprah Book Club Selection, and Midnight Champagne, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. She volunteers at Niwot High School, Shining Mountain Waldorf, and Friends of Coal Creek.
