About Manilyn Cabrera

I am a mechanical engineering graduate of Seattle University. My passion for mechanical engineering stems from my curiosity and creativity in designing and optimizing solutions for various problems. As a project manager and engineer for my senior design project, I collaborated with my team to develop a laparoscopic surgical zip tie applier. This medical device aims to reduce the cost and complexity of suturing. I applied my skills in SOLIDWORKS and ANSYS to create accurate 3D models and simulations, as well as my project management techniques to ensure timely and quality delivery. I also contributed to the research and fabrication of a phase-changing material elastomer composite actuator, a novel device that can be used for rehabilitation purposes. I enjoy working with diverse and talented teams, learning from different perspectives and experiences, and contributing to meaningful and impactful projects. I am eager to apply my knowledge and skills in mechanical engineering to new challenges and opportunities in the field.
