About Manny Rivera

My experience over the years has been in the investigation, evaluation and repair of defects and failures of in-ground concrete swimming pool and spa structures in Texas. Many in-ground concrete swimming pools and spas are failing in Texas. In some cases, these failures can be attributed to highly expansive clay soils known as vertisols. However, oftentimes these failures are attributed to poor workmanship, poor shotcrete operations and/or poor concrete mix design. Honored to serve as a Judge for the APSP Region 3 Design Awards in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Honored to serve as a Judge for the 2017 - APSP International Awards of Excellence in Washington D.C. Served as the President of the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals NTC. Instructor in APSP's education programs. Active member ACI, ASA, ICRI, CRSI, APSP and NPC. Successful completion of approved nationally recognized industry certifications, recognition and/or awards by the APSP, ASA, GENESIS 3 Design Group, NSPF, NPC and others. One of the few professionals in the industry to have multiple certifications and licensing in the areas of pool design & construction with emphasis in shotcrete quality and nozzleman technique, service and repair, pool inspection & operations, residential electrical applications related to swimming pools, etc. Application and technical experience working with geotechnical and structural engineers on construction and renovation projects including failure determination and evaluation. My experience includes serving as an expert witness in litigation and arbitration.
