About Manoj Dangwal

I started my career as a Geologist in an Oil company after completing my Masters degree in Applied Geology. While working in different facets of oil exploration, I developed an interest in satellite data interpretation and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). As Remote Sensing application scientist at the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) of Indian Space Research organization (ISRO), India, I researched, developed and implemented application projects utilizing remote sensing data from different satellites and aerial platforms. I further developed key skills in image processing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and GPS technology while working on innovative projects in natural resources. My Masters degree in Spatial Analysis led my career into the exciting world of GIS applications in business. Working for Allstate Insurance Company of Canada has been a rewarding experience. I have been instrumental in designing multi variable market opportunity models and converting them to simplified maps for field staff to use for prospecting and target marketing. I have effectively integrated market segmentation strategies with marketing campaigns and developed valuable methodologies to monitor sales activities. The power of spatial analysis and its visualization in the form of simple maps has contributed to profitable growth and enhanced business decision-making for my organization. I am a passionate user of geospatial technology and I am always seeking new opportunities to develop new GIS applications.
