For designers beginning their career now at the crossroads of traditional print design and the modern user experience design, starting off at a printing press might appear a little archaic. But in fact for me and my generation of designers it is this very humbling experience that imbibed in us the importance of design principles that stay relevant, no matter what the medium. From a printing press supervisor to a graphic designer and then diverging into web design, motion graphics, UI and UX design and social media, I have been able to reinvent myself in a field that demands constant change and motivation to stay ahead of the game. While my tenure at Positive Edge & BroadSpire enabled me perform a creative leadership role with a hands-on approach to design projects, my stint at KRDS allowed me to explore the immense possibilities of social media and how it combines with visual communication to engage an audience that was once considered out of reach. Currently working as a Creative Director at RR Donnelley, a Fortune 500 company with strong roots in the print and publishing industry finding itself at the threshold of a changing business model that gives me an opportunity to be play a leading role in their transition towards being an Omni-channel Solutions Company involving conceptual UX, interactive, web design, infographics, motion graphics, social campaigns to name a few.
