About Manuel C Lemos

Manuel Lemos is a medical doctor and university professor. He completed his Medical Degree and Masters Degree in Cell Biology at the University of Coimbra, and his PhD in Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford. He underwent his training in Clinical Endocrinology at the University Hospital of Coimbra and he currently works in the health private sector. As a clinical endocrinologist, he treats disorders of the endocrine system, such as diabetes, disorders of the thyroid, parathyroids, pituitary and adrenal glands, and other hormonal disorders. Manuel Lemos is also a Full Professor of Medicine at the University of Beira Interior. At this university, he has occupied several positions in teaching and research, and coordinates a research group dedicated to the genetic causes of endocrine disorders. He has occupied several positions in university management, including that of Pro-Rector and Director of UBImedical (an incubator for companies in the field of health and biotechnology). He is currently President of the Portuguese Board of Medical Specialists in Endocrinology.
