About Manuel Graf

In my current role, I oversee Hexagon’s product development process while ensuring that all internal and external requirements are met efficiently and effectively. I understand that project teams working on new product development projects may not always be eager to learn new processes. Therefore, I strive to make our processes as intuitive and simple to apply as possible. This is achieved by allowing as much freedom as possible and regulating only as much as needed. Both hardware and software products are developed using the same streamlined process. To support our product development process, Hexagon has developed a customized project and portfolio application tailored to our internal needs. I have been in charge of this application for over 12 years, during which I have managed two complete generation steps: transitioning from a Microsoft Access-based internal application to a proper.NET desktop application, and more recently, to a scalable cloud-based service. Under my leadership, this application has grown from being used in one Hexagon division to becoming the largest project management application within Hexagon, with more than monthly users, approximately projects running simultaneously, and nearly managed resources. Innovation management and product development are personal passions of mine. Being technology-savvy and eager to learn new things, I bring a unique perspective with my background in economics. In a world of engineers, this helps me see topics from a different angle. To be successful, I remain open-minded and committed to ensuring easy-to-apply solutions. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two beautiful children, as well as clearing my mind on my mountain bike.
