Background

About Manuel Maia

Born in Aveiro (north Portugal), I am a sports enthusiast. I have played basketball for several years, and have been coach and monitor in summer camps (for young kids). I have been member of the Basketball Section of the University of Aveiro (Academic Association). Nowadays I run and cycle. Sports have always helped me to get the peace and calm I need for my days. I have graduated in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Aveiro, with integrated Master's in Computer and Health/Medical Sciences (2010). In 2011 I have finished a Pedagogical course for training people (Jan-May 2011). All this gave me strong skills that help me handle my daily work, such as- Work ethic and team work skills- Ability to better understand people's behaviour- Capacity to listen, analyse and make assertive decisions- Leadership and conflict management; manage time; responsability and commitment- Diplomacy and sensitivity towards customer and within multicultural team. I am, since 2011, working at Nokia, in the Global Care Center. Until 2015 I´ve been giving remote support (ticket handling / troubleshooting) on Radio technologies (2G/3G/LTE), mainly to Nordic customers. At the moment I am in the OSS Care team, providing daily support and Emergency support to Nokia NMS Systems (NetAct and Nokia Performance Management).
