About Manuel Valerio

As the Executive Director of Cupertino Historical Society & Museum, I lead the organization's vision, strategy, and operations to preserve and promote the rich heritage of Cupertino and its surrounding areas. I have been in this role for three months, and I am excited to work with a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and board members to enhance the museum's exhibits, programs, and outreach. I have a master's degree in history from San Jose State University, and I am passionate about connecting people with the past and inspiring them to shape the future. I have over 22 years of experience in community relations and communications, which I gained from my previous role as the Director of Membership at Cupertino Chamber of Commerce and my long-term tenure as the Community Relations Manager at Fry's Electronics, Inc. I have a proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, developing and executing impactful projects and initiatives, and advocating for the interests and needs of the local business community. Some of my notable achievements include leading a golf tournament that donated $1M to charity, implementing a tech donation to a computer museum, and helping bring public transportation to Santa Clara County. I am a creative and critical thinker, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a collaborative and supportive leadership style. My goal is to leverage my expertise and experience in community relations and communications to create lasting and positive impact for the Cupertino Historical Society & Museum and its visitors.
