About Manuel Vaz

I have been involved in accounting-related studies since my early adolescence for I attended the leading accounting high school in Rosario, my home city. Eager to continue and develop myself within this branch of knowledge, I joined the Faculty of Economics and Statistics of the National University of Rosario in 2007 and achieved the degree of Certified Public Accountant in February 2014. Even though I started to work at second year of university, I managed to rank as the eighth GPA of the 2012 cohort, with an overall mark of 8.35 out of 10. Nevertheless, my dream was to travel, live abroad, and meet different people and cultures. This is why immediately after graduation I applied to the Hungarian Postgraduate Programme, and after completion of written and oral examinations, I was awarded a full scholarship to study the MA in International Economy and Business at the Corvinus University of Budapest, which I finalized in 2016. Since then, I worked in the Controllers' department of ExxonMobil for almost 7 years, then I joined EY GDS Hungary as Direct Tax Manager, and currently I work as Finland Country Controller at IFF. Looking retrospectively, I gained meaningful work experience by occupying accounting, finance, audit, and controlling positions at both local and transnational firms, not to mention awards and recognition I received along the way. However, the brightest part has always been the present. I spend my free time travelling (been to +30 countries, and counting), meeting friends, learning Hungarian, and I could not be more satisfied of meeting and working with people from all kinds of background. Corvinus University, ExxonMobil, Hungary. more than professional development, they have been an incredible life experience I will always carry with me.
