About Manuela Barreca

Manuela Barreca is a senior lecturer and researcher at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in Switzerland. She specializes in teaching courses on public management and governance, public policy and sustainability and social accountability in the master’s program in "Public Management and Policy," which she also coordinates academically. This program has been developed jointly by the University of Lausanne/ IDHEAP - Institut des Hautes études en Administration Publique, University of Bern, and USI under the Swiss Public Administration Network. Her primary research interests are in the area of public art and cultural management, creative industries, integrated within public management and governance, social accountability and sustainable development, network governance, public and private partnerships, public service motivations, and social innovation. She has been involved in projects supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), swissuniversities (in partnership with MENA countries) and, European Union (INTERREG ITA-CH). As a member of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences, she co-chairs two permanent study groups on Social Innovation, Commons, and Administration (IIAS) and Collaborative networks and social innovation (IIAS-EGPA). She is part of the CEPS Research Fellows - Center for Philanthropy Studies.
