About Manuela Sagona

I’ve been working in earth observation field since 2004At the beginning, I was involved in some projects focused on image classification and time series image analysis based on data mining techniques. In some of these projects, we implemented a technology transfer from space to medical segment: artificial vision techniques applied to diagnostics imaging. After this experience, I started to work as SW designer/developer and integrator for web server solutions in Remote Sensing applications. For few years I have worked in European Projects as developer and integrator of- a system for real-time fire monitoring: web server application including data ingestion modules integrated with column store relational DB (e.g. monetDb) and Linkekdata systems (e.g. Strabon)- a web service for data storage and preservation, integrated with Solr, search platform with a REST-like API, providing distributed indexing, replication and load-balanced queryingSince 2013, I have been working on EO data dissemination sub-systems for European Space Agency projects such as Copernicus Sentinels (all), PDGSEVO, CDS, et al. since 2013.More specifically, I’ve been working on development, maintenance and integration of all components of Online Data Access (ODA) systems.I have also maturated a good experience in configuration and integration of Federation Identity Management and security access systems on multiple technologies (shibboleth, UM-SSO, openSSO, openLDAP, PAM modules. Protocols SAML, SSL/TSL) as well as high availability and load balancing modules (f.e. keepalived and haproxy).
