About Mapitso Dlepu

With an extensive career that spans over 25 years, I began my professional journey in the communications industry as a Communications Officer at the Department of Government Communication and Information Systems. Throughout my career, I have held numerous other positions, including Assistant Administrator and Functions and Events Coordinator, Public Relations Coordinator, Communications and Events Coordinator, Spokesperson and Public Relations Officer, Public Affairs Manager, Marketing and Brand Manager, and Head of Corporate Social Investments and Sustainability at The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA). In my current role as the Acting Corporate Affairs, Government, and International Relations Executive, I am responsible for promoting and upholding the reputation of SAMSA. As a former member of the Executive Committee, I was tasked with developing a comprehensive corporate narrative that resonates with audiences internally and externally, both on a national, regional, and international level. In recognition of my contributions to social change, I was awarded the "2019 CMO Asia Africa's Woman's Leaders Award." This achievement has given me the confidence and credibility to drive my unique value proposition (UVP), which involves unlocking implementation frameworks and making strategic business decisions. I possess a keen understanding of sophisticated sustainability advancements and the ability to foster real corporate social investment. I hold a master’s in business leadership (MBL) from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and a Baccalaureus Technologiae (BTech) in Public Relations Management from the Tshwane University of Technology. Additionally, I have two certificates in Business Sustainability from the University of Cambridge, namely, a certificate in Business Sustainability Management that I obtained in 2017 and The Prince of Wales's Business & Sustainability Programme Certificate.
