About Maquir English

Medgar Evers College alma mater; B.S. in Business, emphasis in Marketing Maquir English is a former Senior at Medgar Evers College, who majored in Business with an emphasis in Marketing. Though Medgar Evers College does not offer a major or concentration in advertising, Maquir has been able to feed his passion through co-curricular activities, internships, and volunteerism. Maquir began his professional journey at Silver Button clothing store as merchandising and pricing personnel, assisting with the marketing, advertising, and promotions of the company. He then became a member of the Omnicom Medgar Evers College Associate Program obtaining a summer internship with Porter Novelli, a public relations firm whose original clients were primarily social causes and nonprofit organizations, but currently deal more in crisis management, health care, technology, corporate affairs, consumer marketing, and more. Maquir has continued to immerse himself into the advertising field volunteering at the 2012 Adcolor Awards Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, attending the American Advertising Federation National Conference (Admerica), and a member of the National Society of Leadership & Success. He is the former president of the Medgar Evers College Chapter of the American Advertising Federation 2012-2013. After graduating from Medgar Evers College, Maquir English spent the following summer interning at Merkley & Partners advertising agency on the TEVA account team through MAIP (Multicultural Advertising Internship Program). He also volunteered at the 2013 adcolor award show in Beverly Hills, California. He currently is Marketing Director at Brooklyn Brand, a Brooklyn centric blog site. Maquir’s future goals include becoming a Chief Marketing Office and starting his own advertising firm. He believes in the quote, “Vision without action is a dream. Action without vision is simply passing the time. Action with vision is making a positive difference.”
