About Mara Cantamessa

I decided to study chemistry to better understand nature, human things and processes. I’m a Quality and Integrated System manager. During the last two years I deepened my knowledge in quality management principles, ISO standard requirements (9001, 14001, 45001, and specific product/process certifications related to recycled PET for food and non-food contact applications. I also realised that a safe workplace and workers’ wellbeing are important aspects of everyone’s life, so I’m committed to doing my best as Health & Safety manager. My previous experiences extended my understanding of polymer science and industrial processes through my first job of lab technician and then as a lab manager. This last position allowed me to learn how to manage tasks and people in a quality control laboratory, as well as to master industry-specific analysis (e.g. HS-GC-MS, DSC, TGA, UV-vis and FTIR spectroscopy). Before that, I studied industrial chemistry at University of Turin. The B.A.S. and M.S. degrees provided me a good knowledge in many fields (food, environment, materials, industrial technologies, organic and inorganic chemistry). I gained basic level expertise in a broad range of analytical techniques (spectroscopy, chromatography, thermal analysis, sample preparation). The dissertation and scholarship gave me the opportunity to have a look on R&D world. I have organization and management skills including multitasking, prioritization, scheduling, attention to detail. I always encourage people in my team to give their best to achieve the goal. I strongly believe that a good working environment fosters cooperation, productivity and efficiency.
