About Mara Layne

In 2023 Mara Layne joined the City of Cleveland Department of Aging as the Age-Friendly Cleveland Initiative Lead. In her current position, Mara is developing a strategic plan for the City of Cleveland's Age-Friendly Initiative. As Outreach Coordinator for MaxHousing (Formerly Maximum Accessible Housing of Ohio, or MAHO), she served as an accessibility expert and educator in MAHO’s Anderson Center program, and as a fundraising, marketing, and administrative staff member. Mara has taught hundreds of seniors, people with disabilities, health care and housing professionals, and local leaders to make their homes and communities accessible. In 2021, Mara became a certified ADA Coordinator which, and gained a Certification in Home Modifications from the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology. Mara currently serves on the Executive Board of Northeast Ohio Coalition of Disability Organizations (NOCDO, formerly ADA Cleveland) and as Chair of NOCDO's Marketing Committee. Additionally, Mara serves as a member of the Cuyahoga County Advisory Board on Senior and Adult Services on behalf of the City of Cleveland Department of Aging. In her spare time, Mara is deeply committed to serving her community through the Cleveland Heights Community Advisory Committee, and as a member of local Jewish organizations.
