About Maranda Thompson

As an aviation professional with decades of experience and a strong background in urban planning, I am passionate about providing exceptional aviation planning that work for the specific needs of the airports we serve. My specialized experience in airport land use compatibility planning in California and knowledge of federal, state, regional, and local planning frameworks allows me to successfully supervise Mead & Hunt’s west coast aviation planning practice. I believe that advancing the aviation industry as a whole is of utmost importance; to help aviation prepare for the future, I co-lead Mead & Hunt’s Airport Electrification and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) initiative to help airports and their host communities prepare and plan for new electric aircraft entrants. Above all, I seek to elevate the profession so that our nation’s aviation system can continue to meet the needs of the traveling public, now and in the future.
