About Marc Beherec

Dr. Beherec has more than 20 years' experience in archaeology and cultural resources management in California, Nevada, Texas, Minnesota, Iowa, Mississippi, and Louisiana. He prepared his dissertation on an Iron Age II site in southern Jordan. He has experience preparing studies in accordance with Federal, State, and Local legal and regulatory frameworks, notably the National Environmental Presearvation Act (NEPA), Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), including Assembly Bill 52. Studies and documents he prepares include chapters of EIRs, EISes, and IS/MNDs, MMRPs, technical reports and memoranda, survey plans, testing plans, ethnographic studies, detailed record searches, bibliographic surveys, literature reviews, historic archival research, tribal cultural resources reports pursuant to AB 52, and paleontological record searches, surveys/monitoring, and reporting. He has extensive experience working with Native American tribal governments and assisting tribal consultation, particularly with the Gabrielino tribes of the Los Angeles area. He meets the Secretary of Interior Standards for Archaeology and is certified by the Register of Professional Archaeologists.
