About Marc Beyers

I am a certified translator (PROZ.com Certified PRO Network) with experience in French and Japanese to English since 1995 in many fields, though perhaps mostly in the technical/business/marketing areas. As such, I come across a variety of types of documents, including articles, manuals, reports, spreadsheets, e-mails, academic papers, questionnaires, catalogues and minutes, mostly in Word/Excel/PowerPoint formats. As a former graphic designer, however, I can also handle InDesign, Framemaker and other formats as well as graphics/video editing. Many projects I do are multifaceted in nature. For example, I presently write and translate online catalogs for OX Engineering, a sports wheelchair and bicycle manufacturer, then layout the content in Adobe Illustrator. I also work as a native checker, comparing original text and translations for several companies in Tokyo and abroad. With my several years' experience as a writer/editor with Canadian federal departments such as Canadian Heritage and Parks Canada, I am adept at rendering texts in language appropriate for business and government Elsewhere, as a Japanese to English translation instructor, I teach professionals working in the field translation and research skills at a community college and companies.
