About Marc Demarco

Buying a cake is so much easier than making one, yet we chose to make one. Not just any cake but a multi-masted pirate ship with real sails featuring a customized logo and burnt canon fire holes. The whole thing rested on a bed of turbulent ocean waves made of icing. Why take it that far? Why not just buy a cake? The path of least resistance is tempting but boring. It offers nothing new or inspiring. The urge to go beyond is a compelling force that tugs at all dedicated designers and innovators who dare to be different and push their own limits. Why buy a cake when you can make a pirate ship is the real question. It’s a choice, an attitude and a rewarding path of challenge one chooses to endure because they care. I approach my career as an Art Director for the world’s leading outdoor advertising company much the same way I approach making cakes. Whether it’s bringing wonder and awe to the eyes of my kids or those of the target audience the goal is always the same.
