Marc Zimmermann was appointed Lecturer in 2018 and Professor in 2021 by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Prior to that he worked as Programme Manager with the Drosos Foundation and held various consulting and management positions in governmental and non-governmental organisations. Among other things, he was part of the Managerial Staff of the Federal Office of Culture, as Head of Department for Culture and Education in the Municipality of Pratteln and as General Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Transport, Canton of Basel-Stadt. Over recent years he has worked as managing partner of a consultancy firm and managing director of a Swiss association for sustainability. He studied economics in Basel and earned his PhD in organisation development in Vienna. He also has a post graduate qualification in Leadership and Governance from the University of Potsdam and a Swiss state-recognised qualification in adult education.
