About Marc Johnson

Marc was in love with architecture long before he knew its name. Born in Hollywood, CA, his family’s party and special event planning business gave him access to homes and unique buildings that only fed his appetite for all things Design. He then made the bold step to learning his craft on the east coast in Washington DC far from family and friends knowing that his education would not come just from a university setting. His path toward becoming an Architect was not a straight one: there were stops along the way in everything from event planning, to web site design, to database management for several K street firms and agencies, finally graduating from Howard University. His passion is being an Architect & Designer accumulating a broad range of experience in Civic, Cultural, Retail, Office, Educational, Hospitality, and Mixed-Use projects of varying combinations. He works from project inception and programming phases through construction providing oversight to completion. He has also managed projects authoring and administering contracts, project fees and schedules for RFQs, RFPs, master service agreements with various clients, consultants, and engineers. Since his years at college, Marc has always found the time to be involved with his community. Whether it was working with soup kitchens and homeless shelters during the holidays or mentoring at-risk youth in southeast DC, he gives his most valuable gift…time. As of late, he spends his free time working with youth in various organizations from 3rd and 4th graders on up to local college students. He is more than willing to share his passion for architecture to anyone willing to listen. These many experiences and dealing with all personalities and situations in varied environments, developed unique skills which he has applied to his projects over the last 20 years, and which serve him well as a project architect. Some may say he’s a ‘Jack of all Trades’. However, he is quick to say “I've mastered a few.”
