About Marc Tanner

My name is Marc Michael Tanner and I am a graduate of the University of the Western Cape with a degree in law(LLB). During my legal studies I have been fortunate enough to gain invaluable experience related to law and commerce. This includes being a member of the Tada Ashmal Moot Court Society since 2017. This experience allowed me to gain a first-hand perspective of law in practice and provided me with invaluable subject-specific training. The experience has also allowed me to understand the role which law can play in the lives of people. I have also been exposed to several noteworthy workshops and presentations geared towards commercial law. Furthermore, my practical legal experience outside of academia showcases the knowledge that I have been grateful to acquire thus far; an internship at Jurgens Bekker Attorneys and ESI attorneys allowed me to further establish my desire to become a lawyer of the highest caliber. Notwithstanding, the experience also helped to give me a new perspective on law and equipped me with industry-related skills. Academically, through hard work and numerous sacrifices, I was fortunate enough to be included on the Dean’s Merit List. As a result of this, I was also awarded a membership to the Golden Key Society and an Attorney's Fidelity Fund bursary. In addition I was granted the opportunity to participate in The University of Missouri (U.S) Comparative Conflict Resolution Programme for 2019.My ultimate goal in the legal field is to be a fellow to others in need and to heed the development of the law that our Constitutional dispensation envisioned.
