About Marc Tremblay

My skills and strengths are- Research and analytics - Communications - Operations - Leadership - Change management - Entrepreneurship - Partnership building and negotiating - Fully bilingual The first 2/3 of my career has been rich and rewarding. After graduating from University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Management, I moved to Belgium where I worked as a Research Analyst for Research International. I then returned to Canada and joined Statistics Canada. In my role, I helped clients and entrepreneurs research and utilize data for a variety of uses, including marketing and business plans. After three years of public service, I co-founded Insight Research, which operated from 1996 to 2005, when I sold it to Leger. I stayed on with Léger as Vice-president until 2009. I was then offered the opportunity to lead the Francophone Economic Development Council of Alberta. With a team of 10+ employees in 4 different office, we developed economic development initiatives for Alberta’s francophone community and helped entrepreneurs set-up or expand their businesses. In 2016, my wife and I realized our dream of moving to Victoria, B.C, where I found meaningful work at Passive House Canada as Director of Operations for nearly 2 years. I then obtained a temporary auxiliary appointment at BC Pension Corporation working on all internal change management communications. I currently work in the Francophone Affairs Program for the Government of British Columbia, part of intergovernmental affairs in the Office of the Premier. In my spare time, I have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Lung Association and la Société francophone de Victoria. I sit on the board of directors for Ottawa’s Canadian Centre for Leadershop and Evaluation (Centre canadien de leadership et d'évaluation) and I have facilitated not-for-profit governance development workshops.
