About Marc Witzman

I started in the Public Safety Field at the young age of 14. I was an Explorer for the Los Angeles City Fire Department. I quickly became an Explorer Captain and led a group of almost 20 other Explorers in their daily training. Four years later, I joined the Volunteer Program with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, where I conducted patrols in West Hollywood, CA. Several months later, I got accepted to Eastern Kentucky University, where I majored in Emergency Management and Homeland Security. While in Kentucky, I started to volunteer with the Madison County Rescue Squad. During this work, I became extremely competent in Wilderness Search and Rescue as well as Physical Rescue. I was deployed to the East Coast after Hurricane Sandy as part of a FEMA Emergency Rescue Taskforce. Our task was wilderness and rural rescues. More recently, I worked for Morongo Basin Ambulance in San Bernardino County, CA. In August of 2017, I was part of a swift water rescue team deployed to Houston and Beaumont, TX after Hurricane Harvey. I become a lead logistics officer while on deployment. In January of 2019, I graduated from the Rio Hondo College Police Academy, Class 207. I began my career in law enforcement as a Police Officer with the City of Alameda in 2019. In March of 2020, I moved to the Denver, CO area after being hired as a Sheriff's Deputy with the Arapahoe County Sheriffs Office. Other than working as a Patrol Deputy, I currently hold the position of CPR Instructor within the Sheriff's Office. My other passion is Lacrosse. I have been playing for almost a decade, and I have been a coach for all levels (Kindergarten through College). I was the Head Coach for the Paul Revere Middle School Team in 2014 and 2015. Currently, I am enrolled back at Eastern Kentucky University, where I am finishing my degree in Homeland Security with a minor in Intelligence Studies and a professional certificate in Fire, Arson, and Explosives Investigator.
