Being summoned to the president’s office for a discussion would usually elicit apprehension with any employee. However, with me it usually bought a smile. Chances were something transformational needed to be done, and I was on the short list to do it.Throughout my career I have pursued the challenges presented to me in all the company positions I have held. If the position did not exist, I created it. If a process needed to be tweaked for efficiency or completely redesigned, I jumped in feet first. If a project was too big to be accomplished alone, I gathered a team of the best to conquer.My intuitiveness, imagination and formal education have given me the tools needed to meet challenges. I am a strategic thinker who envisions the end game. Having an analytical mindset and thinking outside the box enables the road to success. If I personally do not have sufficient resources to insure that success, I seek out the right resources by building project teams, engaging professional services and educational opportunities.When I became my company’s first pricing manager, I quickly realized that my extensive experience in sales, purchasing and supply chain was insufficient to support the role. The Professional Pricing Society opened my eyes to all the various aspects of marketing, finance, negotiation, economics, and human behavior. The CPP certification has led me to new avenues and broadened my understanding and desire in the subjects.As a project manager, I listen and lead, resolve conflict, enforce vision and change corporate culture. I enjoy the team atmosphere, the collaboration and comradery in a common goal.Having a long and varied career within the same company has proven that business and personal growth goals can align, providing success and profit for both.
