About Marcel Smits

My digital experience started in the '80s with a good old IBM XT at home and short after my first online encounter was through Viditel (early type of online service through PSTN). This was my online point of no return: I started my own BBS (forerunner of the Internet), and when I was given the opportunity to be part of an "Internet at home pilot" I immediately saw it's potential and started building my own websites. I followed the online path, while also retaining my high interest in "offline" new technology, electronics and automation. With my past experience I am now an all-round online and technology professional in various areas. In my spare time I am active in the area of drones, radio controlled model cars, gadgets, metal detection and also manage several websites.
