About Marcel Stallen

Marcel Stallen MSc (1957), has a degree of Wageningen Agricultural University in tropical horticulture. His major fields of expertise are management of agricultural R&D programs, development and management of international supply chain projects and international horticultural business development. Currently Marcel Stallen works as Chief Technical Advisor / Porject Manager for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Quetta, Pakistan. Marcel manages the Australia Balochistan Agri Business Programme (AusABBA); the project Empowering Women in Balochistan through agri entrepeneurship, both projects funded by the Australian Government and he is acting CTA of the Horticultral Advancement Activity (THAzA) in Balochistan and Khyber Phakthunkwa. From 2006 until 2015 Marcel Stallen was a consultant and partner of Fresh Dynamics Asia with offices in Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan and the Netherlands. Fresh Dynamics provides all kinds of supply chain support for perishable products, representation services in Asia and managed services. Marcel represents Fresh Dynamics Asia in Europe and conducts consultancy assignments in Asia and Africa with a focus on horticultural supply chains. Our slogan.a fresh view on supply chains. Previously, from – 2007, he worked for Wageningen University and Research Centre as Manager applied research fruit and mushrooms and as Head of Department of Marketing and Horticultural Chain Research with the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (LEI Ltd), The Hague. From 2004 – 2007 he was director of the Wageningen Expertise Centre for Chain and Network Studies (WCNS). For almost 9 years, from 1992 till Marcel Stallen was employed by the Dutch Commodity Board for Horticultural Products, as coordinator horticultural research. Previously he worked with SNV in Zambia, DGIS in Indonesia and FAO in Pakistan.
