About Marcel Thom

Marcel is Managing Director at Accenture, one of the world's largest management consulting, technology and outsourcing service providers. His focus is primarily on aspects related to strategy, innovation, digitalization, customer experience and efficiency in the financial institutions and health care industries. He is member of the regional leadership team as well as of Accenture’s Digital Health Europe Initiative (responsible for the German-speaking countries,(Russia), Kazakhstan, and Turkey). Furthermore, Marcel held various regional leadership positions in Financial Services. In addition, he is personally in charge of various client account relationships. Previously Marcel ran a boutique advisory company providing consulting, executive coaching and interim management solutions (especially for C-Level and supervisory board-level clients). Before that Marcel worked for BCG (Boston Consulting Group), primarily advising companies in the financial institutions and health care industries (but also served clients in a wide range of other sectors). The focus of his project work was on strategy, corporate development and organizational topics as well as efficiency/operational programs. In addition, Marcel held various internal key roles (recruiting, people & business development) and was among others member of the Swiss leadership team as well as the global payors (health insurance) & providers (healthcare) leadership team. He was also for instance building up and heading the Swiss payors & providers practice. Prior to joining BCG, Marcel worked as cofounder of two start-up companies (Internet and professional services firm) and was appointed visiting fellow at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. Marcel spent a significant amount of time working on international assignments in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. He is currently based in Switzerland and is a permanent resident of Singapore.
