About Marcel Thomas

My coaching and playing experience has been a blessing thus far. I’ve competed at the highest level of the sport in all stages. My playing years I’ve been a part of a nationally ranked program at Florida State University and also in junior college. I’m in my 13th year as a head varsity boy’s basketball coach and I have a 1 state championship, 1 state runner up, 2 regional championships, and two district titles. In 2011, I was awarded the State Coach of the Year in class 4A basketball and in 2012 and 2013, I was named the F.A.C.A 6A Coach of the Year. My overall record as a head coach currently stands at 180-101. As a player in college and coach in high school, I’ve learned how to turn a group of individuals into a team and what it takes to build a successful program. I’ve learned the importance of time management and also organization, all of which I incorporate into my system here at All Saints' Academy. One of my strengths is the recruiting of on campus students and molding them into not only competitive student-athletes, but shaping them into fine citizens and young men. This summer I will complete my masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration with Concordia University. While continuing to become a better coach, I've also equipped myself with the knowledge to lead an entire athletic program as an athletic director at any level.
