About Marcela Low

Biochemist and PhD in Biological Sciences graduated from Universidad de Concepcion, Chile, with broad experience in cellular and molecular biology. She has revealed excellent skills during her scientific career, including a great adaptation ability to perform productive science along the different laboratories where she had worked, even using wide different biological approaches and model systems. She has demonstrated exceptional communication skills, showing always enthusiasm and positive attitude in the team discussions, being an excellent researcher in all the environments where she had developed. She could carry out her own research using critical thinking, leadership ability and a highly independence. Recently she worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia, Canada, in a prestigious stem cell laboratory where she studied the role of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells in fibrosis and evaluating possible therapeutic strategies to counteract the effects of this devastating condition in the population. Nowadays she is working as a professor at the University San Sebastian, Patagonia branch, teaching Biochemistry and Cell Biology
