About Marcella Thompson

I received my Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from Fort Hays State University in May 2015. I worked on research for two semesters during my undergrad that focuses on using 3D technology as a resource to educate and learn communication theory. While working on my Bachelor's degree, I held a PR and Marketing Internship at the Sternberg Museum of Natural History. This internship helped me to maintain working relationships with television, radio, and other marketing professionals in the Hays, KS area. It is while I worked as an intern at the museum that I discovered by love for public relations and marketing. I completed my Master's degree in General Communication Studies while serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Fort Hays State University from 2015 - 2017. Through my experiences as a Graduate Teaching Assistant I learned about my place in academia as a learner and a teacher. I continue feeding this passion by serving as an adjunct instructor for the department of communication studies at FHSU. I worked as an Executive Assistant to support 11 executives across different sectors at Ernst & Young remotely. I am excited to be working as an instructional designer in the Barton Community College Center for Innovation and Excellence.
