About Marcello Schmidt

Driven, dedicated, and experienced medical professional with extensive expertise in Internal and Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Schmidt currently serve as the Chief of the Department of Medicine at Guelph General Hospital. I am a passionate advocate for patient care and advancing health treatments. In addition to my core role, I am consistently exploring new ways to contribute to the medical community and share insights, whether through launching initiatives like the General Internal Medicine Rapid Access Clinic (GIMRAC), my book: Let’s Get Physical: 3-Minute Senior Workout for Strength and Balance, or sharing engaging medical content. I am particularly passionate about health promotion and the role of physical health, exercise, and strength training in improving health and longevity. With a foundational education from Univeristy of Campinas, medical residencies at University of Campinas, Michigan State University and University of Toronto and a Master of Science from the University of Toronto, I am deeply committed to ongoing learning and professional development. Aiming to leverage my capabilities to continue delivering high-quality medical care, I am passionate about incorporating cutting-edge medical knowledge into everyday practice, including the importance of physical fitness and preventive care, to improve patient outcomes.
