About Marcelo Aschar

Civil Engineer, with a postgraduate degree in Business and Project Management and currently working as Senior Project and Portfolio Manager at AFRY. An enthusiast of multidisciplinary management culture in the areas of process industries and infrastructure, with extensive experience in tactical and strategic projects over the last two decades, across three different continents: South America, Europe, and North America. Solid experience and knowledge in contract management and project execution in all phases, from conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and erection to commissioning and start-up of greenfield and brownfield projects. A track record of relevant performance characterized by a broad strategic perspective, straightforward communication, and accountability, particularly in the pulp & paper, oil & gas, chemical, food & beverage, and infrastructure markets. A strong understanding and appreciation of QHSE - Quality, Health, Safety and Environment - culture, supported by a significant number of training hours in this area. Responsible for a significant number of man-hours without lost time accident in his teams, and actively participated in the environmental permitting process for the greenfield project. In terms of leadership, Marcelo oversaw the Project Management Department at AFRY's office in Brazil for two years. He led a team of 25 junior, full and senior project managers.
