About Marcelo Canetti

Marcelo has spent over 30 years performing financial statements audit of manufacturing, trading and services companies, including listed companies in Argentina and transnational companies, reporting financial information pursuant to IFRS and US GAAP. His robust experience includes not only audit and review of historical financial information, but also audit of prospective financial statements, internal control audit, and due diligence procedures on acquisition processes. He also performs as EQCR in several engagements. Marcelo is not only an audit partner and client service partner, but he has also performed several technical leading roles in Argentina and internationally. Marcelo has been the Regional Audit Advisor for BDO Latin America for the triennium 2009-2012 and, he was member of BDO International Audit Steering Committee, in representation of Latin America for the triennium 2010-2012 and 2013-2015. He has also developed an international academic profile, performing leading roles in accounting education and research. In that arena, he was a voting member of the International Accounting Education Standards Board (IAESB) as part of IFAC for the triennium 2008-2010 and 2011-2013. Marcelo is currently the national leader of BDO Argentina’s Natural Resources industry team, as well as the Argentine representative on BDO International’s Natural Resource Industry.
