About Marcia Taylor

I direct research programs in pharmaceutical science. I have experience running a drug discovery program that enabled successful partnering in a co-development agreement. I have been involved in drug discovery, drug development, and business management in a wide variety of research themes and techniques. My training has focused on biochemical, molecular and cellular biological skills including research projects examining protein misfolding, intracellular signaling and lipid metabolism. Program Development - management of a small (17 person) research group, oversight of lead optimization, assay development, maintenance of database for small molecule program, review of monthly progress reports, cGMP and cGLP documentation, preparation of quarterly progress reports, communication with company board members, research steering group members, various collaborators, and presentation of the program to prospective partners and VC groups. Communication – Produced quarterly reports to senior management. Coordinated projects with a variety of collaborators including DMPK, preclinical models, mass spectrometry, electrochemistry, microdialysis. Presented research program to board members, scientific advisory boards, collaborators, potential pharmaceutical partners, venture capital groups, and angel investors. Presented work at a variety of international scientific meetings. Performed interviews with radio (NPR, CBC) and print (Wall Street Journal) media.
