About Marcie Powell

Marcie Powell, My experience has been in direct patient care, long term care, hospital and rehabilitation to home. I have also worked as a sleep technician, developing and implementing sleep studies and techniques useful to chronic sufferers of insomnia. On a practical level, I have worked in doctors’ offices, assisting with general procedures for surgery. I have enjoyed my experience in allergy testing and the mixing of serums and therapies. I continue my path toward the other side of nursing. Another personal goal I would seek, is to work at a corporate level with a healthcare company. My specialties include: Nursing, Phlebotomy, Lab Assistant, staff development, infection control, orthopedic rehabilitation, floor nurse practice at surgeons office, long term care facilities, wounds and wound care, admissions and administration, including pre-certification of insurance, workman’s comp, and scheduling surgeries. Director of assisted living, managing staff, meeting patient and family goals and needs. Volunteer: Co Chair to Lawrence County suicide prevention coalition. Breaking the silence on suicide thoughts and attempts, depression and the stigma of not talking about it. Educating the public on risk factors and signs and symptoms.
