About Marcienne Koenig

Passionate about learning for small and big people. I have worked in various education related spaces in the private and NGO industries. I enjoy working (read - playing) across a multi-dimensional field : from higher level strategic decision-making to its every day implementation, my brain ticks in both and in where/how they meet. I confess to being critic. I enjoy asking real questions in order to understand if and how a system works best for the end user (I have become less interested where a pretty paper doesn't quite work in reality). Coffee and conversation excite me. I love facilitating safe spaces where we co-learn, share our strengths and truly collaborate. I am learning to curate - from curriculums to conversation, how to find my own clarity in complexity and then share this for the benefit of others. I am currently working on curriculum and training across a number of primary schools. My interests are diverse and include teacher training and support, the role of digital alongside the traditional teacher, creativity in the classroom, intervention-based teaching and Foundation Phase/ECD literacy learning. I (whoops) have used a whole lot of “I’s” and “me’s”. I am conscious of context and space and am learning how to listen, to wait, to choose - before bringing a (probably, secondhand) idea. I'm your biggest small kid, always eager to learn.
