About Marcin Kalinowski

Marcin Kalinowski is a Senior Principal Acoustic Systems Engineer at HARMAN's Acoustic Team in South Korea. He is responsible for defining and developing the architecture of audio systems and ensuring sound quality for various brands, including JBL, Harman/Kardon, Audio by Bang & Olufsen, and Bang & Olufsen, which HARMAN supplies for the HKMC group (Hyundai, Kia, Genesis). In his technical lead role, Marcin oversees the RFQ (Request for Quotation) system definition, which requires close collaboration with transducer team (speaker selection), amplifier team (HW requirements), SW team (DSP and signal flow definition), and mechanical team (seamless acoustic integration). In his previous role at Harman, he was responsible for the implementation of premium in-car Bang & Olufsen Sound Systems in Audi and Lamborghini vehicles.He worked for a few years in the Harman Turin office, focusing on the development, tuning, and execution of in-car audio systems supplied by Harman to Ferrari and the FCA group, which includes Alfa Romeo and Maserati. These systems feature audio brands such as Harman/Kardon, Bowers & Wilkins, and JBL Professional.Marcin has extensive experience as a re-recording mixer for film and television (BBC and Netflix). He is also a former lecturer in sound recording technology and sound editing at NuWave (Private Institute of Audio Engineering) and "Zespół Szkół Łączności" in Gdańsk.Marcin holds a Master of Science in Electronics and Telecommunications from the Gdansk University of Technology, with a specialization in Audio Engineering.He is an active member of the Audio Engineering Society (since 2008) and AES Automotive Audio Technical Committee.
