About Marco Basilico

I started working at TRE ALTAMIRA after graduating in I have acquired ample experience in all aspects relating to the processing and interpretation of the radar SAR signal. During this time, my roles have varied from R&D activities and software development to project management. As an experienced software developer, I have gained extensive knowledge about challenging aspects of signal processing: heavy computational processing, use of large datasets and distributed processing (cluster and cloud). The principal tools used to complete these activities were the programming languages C, C++ and Python. This knowledge was also used in R&D tasks with another software environment: MATLAB. MATLAB has become an everyday tool for use in both research and debugging tasks. I developed additional professional skills working on two European projects: GlobVolcano (2008 - 2009) and EVOSS (2010-2012). In 2013 I attended a Project Management course to gain skills in PMI methodology. This methodology aided the success of long-term projects conducted in TRE ALTAMIRA. I have successfully developed useful tools and services to improve workflow efficiency by incorporating both my experiences in Software Development and Project Management. In these activities I used important tools such as Google App Script, Django and javascript.
