About Marco Bauer

World History/Social Studies teacher, and Model United Nations mentor with over 24 years of experience in top educational institutions in Lima and Madrid, I am specialised in both the IB Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme including the role of Examiner. Education is the best instrument for the transformation of individuals; who, in turn will become the main transformative elements of their societies. As Dr. Maria Montessori said: “the best way to achieve a more equitable, fair and peaceful world is through educating of the youth”. In my experience, students learn better when they realise that the person in front of them honestly cares, for what they’re learning; for them. I believe my role as educator is to accompany and support my students and their families in the most importan project of their lives, which is the growth of their child into the best version of themselves aided by strong academic knowledge, and the development of skills and foundations. Educators must do our best to help graduates become both, as academically and morally strong as they can be. With a clear sense of service and duty as well as prepared and equipped with the best tools that will allow them to make the best decisions in all possible aspects of their lives; always taking into consideration the impact of those decisions on the lives of others and anywhere their influence can reach.
