About Marco Block

Patients’ health shall be the highest commandment – working in healthcare should always be based on this principle of Helsinki declaration. But who in the end is the consumer of our work in research and development? When developing new medicines, in the whole process one will have contact to many “consumers” until ultimately reaching the patient. To get the most out of the research and developmental work for every aforementioned consumer, one should keep standards high and quality flawless to reach the final goal – patients’ wellbeing. In gDDS CMC, I’m proud to be part of a team that stands for high quality and short timelines, aiming to create value through innovation. In our team, I’m allowed to develop, manufacture and characterize new small-batch formulations for preclinical studies. The challenge is to deliver significant PK, PD- and tox-data with barely any compound available at this early point. To master this, close collaboration with MedChem and formulation development for clinical use are essential for my daily work and I really enjoy these interfaces. In other words: I try to deliver the right solution (btw, that's funnily enough mostly suspensions and especially LAIs) to support an API candidate asap. Thanks for reading Marco
