About Marco Dotti

I started studying theology. It turned out to be the best possible training for understanding communication.The relationship between truth, narrative, and public opinion has been at the center of my work for over two decades — as a researcher, educator, journalist, and strategist. I've directed publishing houses, edited magazines, built content strategies for global brands, and spent eighteen years teaching at the University of Pavia, where I research the intersections of digital transformation and communication ethics.In 2017, I published a paper in Comunicazioni Sociali arguing that Walter Lippmann's concept of the pseudo-environment is not obsolete but inverted: the digital world doesn't shelter us from complexity — it reduces complexity to banality. That thesis shapes everything I do in corporate communication.In 2022, Electa published my Cocteau A-Z, part of their Enciclopedia A-Z series alongside Rodari, Woolf, and Savinio. It was a reminder that rigorous thinking and compelling narrative are not opposites. Today I lead communication strategy for corporate clients and innovation-driven organizations, advise institutions navigating digital transition, and continue to research and teach at the University of Pavia.
