About Marco Lenzo

I am determined, constantly pursuing personal improvement, and I have a true love for IT started at young age. I hold the position of Lead Architect for phoenixNAP Bare Metal Cloud. My role is to act as the technical leader of multiple teams of DevOps and Architects while sitting in the governance team of our latest product: Bare Metal Cloud. During my career, I had the opportunity to design and implement highly available distributed systems for payments processing and other Infrastructure-as-a-Service offerings. I take great attention to detail and I am always keen on investigating new patterns, frameworks, and technologies. My primary programming language is Java. I am also conversant with JavaScript, Python, and Go. I use several frameworks and standards such as Spring and OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect 1.0. My expertise is not limited to software development alone. I do have a good understanding of infrastructure, systems, and networks. I am a strong supporter of Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, and Cloud Native technologies. I was an early adopter of Kubernetes for which I hold the Kubernetes Certified Administration (CKA) and Kubernetes Certified Security Specialist (CKS) certifications. I successfully employed these tools to create new teams and products built around Continuous Delivery/Deployment pipelines. In addition to research, prototyping and system design, I enjoy coaching and mentoring. I am an innate team player, and I am equally able to give my best within a team both as a member as well as a lead. I dedicate a considerable portion of my free time to learn new languages and technologies and, when possible, to support the open-source community.
