About Marco Lupo

I am a Product and Application Specialist with a PhD in Chemical Engineering and a strong background in powder technology and chemical processes. I am currently working as an Application Specialist at Anton Paar Italy. I am involved in all phases before, during, and after the installation of analytical instruments used for the characterization of granular solids, powders, membranes, pellets, gels and other materials. These instruments are typically used to determine specific surface area, pore size distribution, particle shape and size, zeta potential. I am also responsible for other kinds of instruments like the extruders and the farinograph. Before installation: I support the sales team in identifying the best possible configuration to propose to the customer before a potential purchase. Once the instrument is ordered, I organize meetings with the customer to present the pre-installation requirements. I carry out demos and sample measurements for customers prior to a potential purchase. During installation: I install the instrument at the customer's site and provide training to ensure correct use of both the hardware and the controlling software. After installation: I continue to support the customer by assisting them with measurements and any technical questions they may have Skills & Expertise • Excellent communication & problem-solving skills • Multitasking • Extensive knowledge of Chemical Engineering topics, including powder technology, polymer technology, catalysis, thermodynamics, transport phenomena, reaction kinetics, process plant design, and Industry 4.0 • Software proficiency: Aspen Plus (chemical process simulation), Microsoft Office, SAP, EDEM (discrete element method) • Languages: Fluent in English, intermediate in French • Hands-on experience with experimental characterization techniques for polymers, catalysts, granular materials, powders, pellets, films.
